This study examines the effect of two types of formal instruction on acquiring pronominal copies' status in English restrictive relative clauses by native speakers of Arabic using English for academic purposes. Grammatical judgment and sentence combination elicitation measures were used followed by some pedagogical implications and further research suggestions.
