The Effect of Communicative Competence on Classroom Interaction1

Abstract

The primary aim of this study is to examine learners’ awareness of specific areas of classroom interaction and to measure their attitudes to these interaction types both in terms of learners’ enjoyment of these activities and also in terms of the effectiveness of these activities. The present findings indicate that there is a correlation between learners’ level of communicative competence and their attitudes towards classroom interaction. The results reported here highlight the importance of giving voice to students and understanding their views about classroom activities especially regarding the effectiveness of these activities.
